031059 In my current PID controller setup, when a contact signal changes the Set Value (SV) in the control loop, the PID process controller responds with a sudden increase of the manipulated value, causing instability in the control process. How could it be possible to make any controller MV responses to SV changes more gradual?

031062 Due to the common mode noise problem, we urgently need isolation for the 4-20mA current loop. But we don't have an isolator right now. And we have an isolated type High/Low selector as a spare part. Can we use this unit (M2SES, inputs 4-20mA, output 4-20mA)?

031065 When measuring the quantity contained in a storage tan, how can I measure the amount already used up, rather than the amount presently contained with in the tank?

031066 We are measuring the current of a motor by a signal conditioner via CT (current transformer) is being measured. This signal (4-20 mA) goes to a telemetering device to transmit to a control room. But in the event when the motor is switched on, the signal conditioner outputs more than 20 mA due to a rush current. by that, the signal is recognized as motor default.

032052 We use a Math function Module model JF to measure two tank levels. Today we removed the unit from its loop and provided a simulation signal 4-20mA DC to it by using a signal generator as show in Fig.1 to calibrate it for shutdown maintenance. However, we couldn't get the output correctly. Why?

032053 When one of the three input terminals is open because this input is reserved for future expansion system, will there be any problem? The equation is as follows: X0=K0{K1(X1 + A1) + K2(X2 + A2) + K3(X3 + A3)} + A0

032054 Wind speed is being measured with an anemometer with north as center. Currently 4-20mA DC signal corresponding to wind speed 0-1000 rpm for north to east direction is indicated on a meter and another 4-20mA DC signal corresponding to 0-1000 rpm for north to west direction on another meter. I want to indicate these two signals on a single meter.

032080 The customer is a printing company who is producing LCD color filters and supplying them to many electronic companies. To keep the color filter’s good quality, they use a clean room in their factory manufacturing process. There are 2 (two) pressure sensors in the clean room. Each sensor’s output is a 4-20mA DC. They want to control the clean room’s fan inverter system in proportion to the average output of the 2 (two) pressure sensors. Therefore, they need to get an average value of two pressure sensors as a 4-20mA DC standard signal.
Does M-System have a suitable adder unit for this application?

032088 I use an output signal (1-5 Vdc) from a water level indicator and watch water level of a tank.
I use a pump and pull out water of a tank, but the tank suffers from minus number pressure when I operate the pump. It is about 0.3 V fall of output signal,1-5 Vdc. This minus number pressure troubles us to do a precise measuring of tank level.
Could you suggest how to bias the output signal of 0.3 V when the pump works?

032100 We plan to measure water levels of inside and outside of water gate by water-level gauge. We’d like to display the water level difference between the two gauges. On the panel, we like to display them as follows:
No water level difference: Display as 0.00 m
Inside gate 100%, outside gate 0%: Display as 5.00 m
Inside gate 0%, outside gate 100%: Display as -5.00 m
The signal from each water-level gauge is 4-20 mAdc. Also we plan to use a 4-20 mAdc input type panel display unit. Does M-System have a suitable unit?

032112 We have a 4-20 mA manipulate signal. And we also have a potentiometer on the panel with resistance range 0-1k ohm. Adjusting this pot. we’d like to get multiplied output with the ratio 0.5 to 1.5.
Please advise how we should do with 4-20mA and potentiometer value?

032116 We are planning to add flow signals from two-flow meter. We’d like to use M-System model M2ADS but we have no idea how to determine each parameter K1 and K2.
We use 4-20 mA signals for all inputs and output. Power input will be 220 Vac.
Actual flow values are as follows:
  Input (1) 0 to 2.5 m3/h
  Input (2) 0 to 7.5 m3/h
  Output 0 to 10 m3/h
Could you advise how to determine each K1 and K2?

032136 We installed a control valve at field. This valve works with control signal of 4-20mA.
After installation, we found that the valve moves to open/close in the opposite direction of increase/decrease of 4-20mA. To solve the problem, we know we have to change operation mode of the valve. But the valve is already installed in a pit, which is too much narrow space for us to reach. As second best solution, we suppose we have to invert the manipulating signal 4-20mA to 20-4mA to match the valve action. Does M-System have any suitable transmitter for this application?

032137 We monitor signal from the turbidity meter, which is installed in drain facility.
We have to maintenance/clean up the facility several times per year.
We would like to provide a simulated DC signal to prevent the monitor equipment from detecting abnormal signal from turbidity meter during drain facility maintenance time. As for the simulated DC signal, we would like to change the set point and monitor the value easily. Does M-System have any suitable DC signal generator? We use 4-20mADC signal as turbidity meter output. We can prepare 100VAC power for the generator. We plan to switch from turbidity meter signal to simulated DC signal by using a switching relay.

032142 We use M-System’s high/low selector M2SES at our factory.
We are keeping several pieces of M2SES in stock by suffix code 1 (low selector) and 2 (high selector). We like to have a module which is configurable with high or low selector, that can reduce our inventory. Does M-System have that kind of a product?

032146 We like to apply an arbitrary ratio up to 2 for a 0-10V DC control signal by using the potentiometer on the front panel. We know M-System’s ratio transmitter with control buttons, but need a solution to use the potentiometer on the front panel instead. Is there any suggestion?

032150 We like to measure and display a typical temperature of our plant floor. Since there is a temperature difference at two measurement locations, we like to measure and select the higher or the lower temperature by season. Thermometer has a 4-20mA output. Is there any solution?

We are using DC Alarm (model: M2SED) to output an alarm signal when temperature rises over 60°C. Input signal of 4–20mA is from Thermocouple Transmitter (model: M2TS). Now we are planning to add one more set of thermocouple sensor and M2TS, so that an alarm output is enabled output when temperature of either sensor rises over 60°C. Is there a solution by adding a signal conditioner to use with M2SED?

032155

For alarming when temperature rises over 60ºC, we are using a DC Alarm (model: M2SED) of which 4–20mA DC input is from a Thermocouple Transmitter (model: M2TS). Now we are planning to add one more set of a thermocouple sensor and a M2TS to be able to output an alarm when either one of the two sensors’ temperature rises over 60ºC. Is there a solution by adding a signal conditioner in front of a M2SED?

We are planning the following hot and cold water supply control.
  Input Output 1 Output 2
  0% 100% 0%
  50% 0% 0%
  100% 0% 100%
Is there any good way?

032160 We are looking for a solution to monitor the peak value during a day of generated power by solar panel and display it on a large digital panel meter. The rated output from a solar panel is 0 to 24V and 0 to 8A DC.
[ HTML ] [ MS Word MS Word 100k ]
032161 We are upgrading a panel, and the Mini-M signal conditioners will be used. Those include the following models and etc. Current Loop Supply (model: M2DYS), Signal Transmitter (model: M2VS), RTD Transmitter (model: M2RS). Prior to the system start-up, loop tests are planned to conduct for the output loops of their signals. Signal generators can be used but it requires various types of signals and additional work for rewiring. Do you have a product which we can use with their base sockets and output the simulated 4 to 20mA DC signal?
